What to do immediately after the accident
A road traffic accident is always stressful, but correct and timely actions help ensure the safety of road users, preserve necessary evidence, and expedite the claims settlement process.
During the accident, you can call the insurance company on our short number 7007 (extension 2) and receive advice from our specialist.
If an accident occurs, it is recommended to follow the procedure below.
1. Stop your vehicle immediately
Do not leave the scene of the accident and switch on your hazard warning lights.
If necessary, place a warning triangle in accordance with the requirements of the Road Traffic Regulations of the Kyrgyz Republic.
2. Ensure the safety of all parties involved
Assess the situation.
If there are injured persons, immediately call an ambulance and, if necessary, other emergency services.
Do not move the injured unless absolutely necessary and unless there is an immediate threat to their life.
3. Report the incident to the competent authorities
In cases provided for by the legislation of the Kyrgyz Republic, you must report the road traffic accident to the relevant state authorities.
The documents obtained may be needed later for the settlement of the insurance claim.
4. Document the scene of the accident
Before changing the position of the vehicles, it is advisable to gather as much information as possible about the accident.
If possible:
- take general‑view photographs of the accident scene;
- photograph the damage to each vehicle;
- capture road signs, markings, and traffic lights;
- photograph the licence plates of the vehicles;
- record the time and location of the accident.
The more detailed the documentation, the easier it will be to establish the circumstances of the incident.
5. Exchange information with the other parties involved
It is recommended to exchange the following details:
- - the driver's full name;
- contact phone number;
- vehicle information;
- insurance policy details (if available);
- information about the vehicle owner, if the driver is not the owner.
6. Notify the insurance company of the incident
After the accident, you are advised to notify ARSENAL‑KYRGYZSTAN (CJSC) within 3 working days.
Our specialists will advise you on further steps, the list of required documents, and the claims settlement procedure.
What documents may be required
To process the insurance claim, you may need documents confirming the circumstances of the accident and your entitlement to compensation.
The list of documents depends on the specific situation and may include:
- a claim notification form for the insured event;
- an identity document;
- vehicle documents;
- materials prepared by the competent authorities;
- photographs of the accident scene and the damage (if available);
- other documents necessary for the examination of the claim.
Our specialist will provide the exact list of required documents after receiving information about the incident.
What is not recommended to do after an accident
After a road traffic accident, it is not recommended to:
- leave the scene without a legal justification;
- admit liability or agree on compensation without a proper assessment of the circumstances;
- start repairing your vehicle before the necessary inspection procedures have been completed, if this could affect the handling of the claim;
- provide false or misleading information about the incident;
- conceal information that is relevant to the settlement.
Following the established procedure will help avoid delays in processing your claim.
Why it is important to report the insured event promptly
The sooner the insurance company receives information about the incident, the faster our specialists can advise you on further actions, arrange for the review of documents, and initiate the settlement process.
